Sylhet Station Club was established on December 25, 1886. Located in the tea-growing region of Sylhet, the British tea planters used this club as a transit hub for business meetings and entertainment. Thus, it was named Sylhet Station Club. Over the years, the club's development occurred gradually to meet the demands of its members. Consequently, the current state of the building has become disorganized and lacks coherence. The client approached K2AH+Architects to propose an economically feasible design that would modernize the building with minimal intervention. After surveying and analyzing the existing structure, the design team proposed an elevation using the building's existing cantilevered slab, incorporating vertical brickwork on the exterior to create a unified faade. The existing porch was redesigned as a double-height area to provide a grand welcoming ambiance. Additionally, the existing rear building was redesigned with a brick screen extending from the third-floor terrace garden to conceal the structurebehindit.
